The Google Suite – Docs, Sheets, Slides, etc. – has been a life-saver throughout my pandemic teaching. Along with Google being my go-to, there are still some features it is lacking. One such feature is the ability to add a border around my Google Doc. While I know I can already do this in Microsoft Word or just simply change my page setup in Google Slides to mirror a doc, I still want to do this in Docs.
I have found 3 different options to add a border in Docs.
- Inserting a Transparent Image
- Inserting a Google Drawing
- Using a 1×1 Table
The video below shows how to create the border using the three options.
While I would love to have the option to create borders from a real feature, these three options can work for now. I’m thinking if everyone can leave feedback for Google and tell them we NEED this feature, maybe they’ll add it.
